Week 3 - The Supreme Court Obergefell v. Hodges case
The Supreme Court Obergefell v. Hodges
case will probably be one of the most important case of recent America history.
The total implication of this decision is
for now unknown, but one thing is for sure, for us, as Latter-day Saints, and I
believe also to most Christians and defenders of traditional marriage, and let
me make clear, that when I use the word traditional I am not addressing any
outdated or retrograde idea about marriage, the divine institution of marriage,
ordained by God, as I believed, between a man and a woman, and lived and
maintained by many civilizations all over many millenniums was, are, and will
be the most important and sacred institution on earth, and the major social
pillar that support it. Without strong, balanced, and respected marriages and
family’s societies will derive to unsafe and dangerous waters prophesied by
ancient prophets and wisely reiterated more recently in the proclamation to the
world – The Family by The First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve
Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the famous
proclamation to the world when we read this warning: “we warn that the
disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and
nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.”
